About Dr. I.V. Hilliard

Ira V. Hilliard, a native Houstonian, was called at the age of nine to preach God’s Word.

He married the beautiful Bridget E. Harrison on October 4, 1975.

Drs. I. V. and Bridget Hilliard are the co-founders of the dynamic New Light Christian Center Church (”One Church, Multiple locations”) in North and South Houston, Beaumont and Austin, Texas and the most recently acquired East Houston Campus (formerly Lakewood Church - Northeast Campus). Their passion to take God’s Word to a hurting and lost generation has resulted in a current membership of over 28,000 and counting.

In addition to the awesome teaching they provide through New Light Christian Center Church’s nationwide television ministry, Drs Hilliard also established a drug rehabilitation center for men and women (Life Change Institute), the ministry’s own satellite network, an Aviation Division, and Early Childhood Development Centers.

Dr. Hilliard has been recognized for various scholarly honors and have written several life-changing books, which include Mental Toughness for Success, Victory Over Stress, and 10 Mistakes Most Failures Make and How to Avoid Them. Most recently, Dr. Hilliard accepted an opportunity to write for Nelson Publishers after being approached by them, resulting in the release of his current best seller, Living the Maximized Life.

With a staff of 260 people to assist them, they have committed to creating and cultivating an authentic church experience that glorifies God and exceeds all expectations. Their unwavering compassion for people along with their faithfulness to build into God’s people, PURPOSE, POWER, and PRAISE will continue yielding great returns for them in this time and for generations to come.

The Hilliards have committed to the parental oversight of three lovely daughters: Tina Hilliard Egans, husband Terry Egans, Irishea Hilliard Lewis, husband Jeffery Lewis, and Preashea Hilliard. The Hilliards are also very proud to have four grandchildren: Ira Emanuel, Briona Janae, Ivan Harrison, and Jonathan Sean-Michael. All the children and grandchildren have been marked for ministry with all the adult children currently working in full time ministry with their parents.
